SAFE Family Courts Scotland: A Roadmap for Reform.

We are a movement of families demanding a transparent, child-centered, and accountable Scottish family justice system.

Our Pillars for Reform

Systemic Accountability

  • Mandatory, trauma-informed judicial training.
  • Consistent judicial continuity for families.
  • Gender-responsive judicial accountability to tackle systemic bias and misogyny.

Advocacy for Children

  • The appointment of child safeguarders as standard.
  • Reform of summary child removal procedures.

Fairness in Evidence

  • More stringent vetting of 'expert' evidence.
  • The abolition of privately funded 'expert' evidence.

Eradicating Abuse

  • CMS reform to prevent ongoing financial abuse.
  • A repeal of the presumption of contact in cases with a documented history of domestic abuse.
  • Robust reform to tackle vexatious litigation.
